With over 18 years of experience as a seasoned tax professional, Kate has consistently refined her expertise in accounting and tax matters throughout her distinguished career. Her proficiency spans the preparation of consolidated federal and state returns, addressing intricate individual tax filings, and engaging with the IRS and State Department of Revenue on a variety of issues.
Kate excels in guiding clients through tax audits, formulating tax provisions in compliance with ASC 740—encompassing State and Local Tax (SALT) provisions—and conducting thorough research on complex corporate tax issues. Her skill set also encompasses the preparation of Multi-state modifications, allocation, and apportionments.
Beyond her tax expertise, Kate is adept at various accounting functions, including fixed assets reconciliations, analysis, and the calculation of gains/losses related to asset sales and real estate foreclosures. She navigates deferred tax treatments such as like-kind exchanges and manages international tax filings, including forms 5471, 5472, 8865, and 114, while also conducting transfer pricing studies.
An alumna of the University of Nebraska Lincoln, Kate holds an Enrolled Agent license from the IRS. Outside of her professional pursuits, she derives joy from culinary adventures and global travel with her family. As an avid small animal enthusiast, her special affection extends to Shih Tzus, with a particular focus on her adorable companion named "Gege," meaning "Princess" in Chinese. Gege, a black and white Shih Tzu resembling a baby panda, occupies a cherished place in Kate's heart, receiving the utmost care and affection as an integral member of the family.
